um yea hi asked:
My mom has been smoking since she was young and I keep telling her she should quit. She always says that she will and that she know she needs to and she will soon, but I have never seen her try to quit in the 16 years I’ve lived. What can I do to convince her? I was thinking about printing out information about different ways to quit, but I have no idea where to start. Could someone help me out with that too? Please, help me if you can.

I quit smoking, cold turkey, 2 weeks ago. I had smoked for 15 years. Since then I have had ear aches, one side at a time, and a sore throat. Is this from quitting smoking? Or just a coincidence?

I’ve been smoking for the past 5-6 years, I **** it and it’s disgusting. I want to quit. I’ve heard that if you quit smoking you gain a ton of weight, is this true or just one of those myths? If you do gain weight than why? From eating more to fight the cravings or is it some chemical in your body? I’ve heard both of those.

I am 23, been smoking since 15 and it is really out of hand. I can go through a pack a day and I am afraid for my future. I want to quit, but after a couple hours without nicotene all I want to do is smoke. I need help… any suggestions from any former smokers?

I quit smoking four months ago, and have gained quite a bit of weight. I know I eat too much and I’m sure it’s because I am substituting smoking with food. Anyway, I worked out and dieted ******** for over a month and nothing happened. Normally I lose weight relatively quickly if I am working my **** off at the gym and watching my diet. Is this lack of weight loss due to my quitting smoking? I smoked for 9 years.
