My husband and I have been smoking for about 3 years now. We started out slow and now we go through about a pack a day. He is in the Army so he is surrounded by smokers all day long, which makes quitting quite a feet. We have both agreed that we are not going to quit unless we both do it and we know that it’s for good. What is the most effective way to go about this tough process. And after we have quit, how do we remain successful and prevent the urges to start smoking again?

I’m 22 and have smoked ever since i was 18. I am a socially sensitive person (self-counscious, no self-confidence, easlily hurt, **** uncomfortable eyecontacts, always dont know what to say….you name it!) so i get really stressed out when i have to face all the people in school and smoking has always been my only way of relaxing. Like all smokers i know smoking is very bad for me, and like most smokers i have wanted to quit for a long time but havent been able to. More than my other smoking friends, tobacco has effected my health in a really obvious way already. I get constant heart aches, my voice is always dry, i get head aches, throat pains and lately i got bronchitis. Even though, i still cant quit. I have tried exercising but if i move too much i cant breathe. I feel like i really need thoses freaking ciggs to make it through each day. So what should i do? I cant quit or take a yr off from school it is really not an option. More confidence? Dont think that i havnt tried.

I quit smoking 2 weeks ago today and for the last 5 days I have had this feeling of a lump in my throat. My throat also feels very dry and irritated. Has anyone else had this side effect? I went to my GP today and he wasnt sure if the quitting was the cause but gave me samples of a med for acid reflux. I don’t know what to think.

I seem to get migraines for long periods of time and also get dizzy being near smokers and smelling the second hand smoke. I quit smoking 7 months ago.
